Third Party Apps to Automate Student Processes

With the new consolidated Banner environment, users will be able to take advantage of several new third party applications that will lessen workload and manual processing. Third parties are simply applications made by other vendors (other than Ellucian) that can interface with Banner. There are many 3^rd party apps that will become available.

One application currently being used extensively at the Baton Rouge campus is UC4/Atomic. The UC4 Job Scheduling is a service that enables the us to schedule and monitor computer batch jobs. The scheduler is able to initiate and manage jobs automatically by processing prepared job control scripts and statements. One of the primary users of this app is Financial Aid.

Dynamic Forms and Laserfiche are other apps used by SUBR that will be available to all campuses on Go-Live. With Dynamic Forms users can take any paper form and quickly build and interactive electronic form that can be published to a website or other portal. These forms can be routed through all approval levels for electronic signatures and then stored in database for future handling. Functional areas can then use a Laserfiche link in Banner to access and further process the documents.

Finally, one application enhancement will be incorporated into the new consolidated Moodle LMS environment. By implementing Ellucian ILP into the new Moodle environment users will be able to interface dynamically with Banner. For example, if a professor enters a grade into Moodle, it is automatically replicate in Banner and vice versa.

There will be several other 3^rd party software being implemented to support automation of student processes in an effort to make business more efficient. Below are the software components that will integrate with the consolidated environment at go-live:
