SUS debuts new student services mobile app - Thursday, April 04, 2013

The Southern University System recently announced the debut of its mobile application suite 'eNtourage' for Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR).

SUBR is leading the technology wave by being one of the first campuses in the U.S. and Canada to provide course add and drop, shopping cart registration, and student bill payment directly from students' mobile devices. The new mobile app has a robust suite of applications covering the entire student pipeline management and provides SUBR students and staff with one stop access to the University's information such as campus news, events, maps, and feedback.

To achieve this endeavor, Southern University deployed N2N Services Incorporated's Mobile Student Engagement solution.

"In meeting the needs of today's millennial student, the Southern University System sought a solution that would transform the student on-boarding experience for prospective students and further engage them throughout their matriculation on campus. N2N Services mobile suite for student engagement provided such a solution," said Tony Moore, vice president of information technology, SU System.

Moore added, "In today's competitive market for students, mobile engagement is an essential part of the communication plan for attracting students using platforms indigenous to their digital world. We are proud of our partnership with N2N and look forward to a continued successful relationship."

He explained the eNtourage suite will positively impact the University's metrics pertaining to student recruitment, retention, progression, graduation rates, and ultimately alumni involvement and donations.

"N2N's mobile application will assist our campus with meeting critical customer service benchmarks associated with our student enrollment and registration services. We are proud to partner with N2N attaining our strategic goals," said Carlos Thomas, chief information officer, SUBR.

N2N Services Incorporated is a software solution provider in the fields of mobile application development, systems integration, product management, and custom application development.

Kiran Kodithala, CEO of N2N Services Incorporated commented, "My sincere congratulations to Southern University and A&M College's leadership for understanding the needs of the mobile generation. Students are connected using mobile devices for their computing, social networking, and communication needs. Institutions like SUBR are leading the student engagement process by providing students better tools to interact with their campus on their mobile devices."
